Today I walked 13.5km from Rabé de las Calzadas to Arroyo de San Bol. I arrived there just after 11 am. The place didn’t open until 2pm. The albergue is basically one building in a valley by itself in the middle of nowhere. I regretted not getting breakfast / lunch, but after they opened, I was able to get some olives and nuts to snack on.
At first some Italians arrived but we didn’t speak much of a mutual language other than bits of Spanish. Then a French guy called Jean-Michael arrived. No relation to Monsieur Jarre, 70s-80s musician, but he looks just like Jack Nicholson! He could speak some English.
Anyhow, a handful more internationals are here now. Just 12 people to share this peaceful remote place.
