Today I didn’t get up until 6.30am. A lie in!
I walked 26km today to get to Terradillos de los Templarios, a place with a history associated with the Knights Templar.
I got to walk along an ancient super highway, a very straight series of paths thanks to our Mediterranean friends. I held a regular fast pace for most of the distance. This is the first day that I haven’t been distracted by the pain in my foot an shin in a while. I think I might actually be getting better. I’m loathed to say it too soon in case I regress, but after 26km, I don’t feel I’ve paid a price for the speed and distance.
Boring straight paths can be good. The first 18km had no town to stop at. About 8km out there was a cafe van. I stopped for breakfast there.
