So thankfully, today was just a 12km stretch from Logroño to Navarrete as mentioned. I still have my shin problem on my right leg. I’ve been taking ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and fortunately I have my compression tights that I normally wear for running. They help with the circulation. I walked a cautiously slow pace and although I can feel a slight discomfort, I don’t think I’ve aggravated my shin further. I’m hoping that if I keep up the caution, I may recover.
All the accommodation at Navarrete is booked out. I’ve overheard conversation that the mayor of the town is being consulted to see if the can use the church to handle the overflow of people.
I reserved a room a few days ago. This year, the Camino is far busier than normal. I hear a lot of talk about this. I am now typically booking places up to 3 days in advance. I’d rather not do the morning bed rush. People get up super early to make it to the next place to get a room at the first come first serve albergues. Some albergues have a 50/50 mix of reservable and non-reservable rooms.
