So two days ago I decided to do a bit of luxury, and I’ve booked myself a hotel room for two nights in Pamplona. I gotta say, it was worth it. Not the money, it’s a pretty basic hotel for the stupid price I paid, but to have a room to myself and to get clean and dry without being surrounded was fantastic. I was able to misappropriate the hair drier to dry my shoes.
After getting clean and dry I went to the tourism office to get a stamp for my pilgrim credentials.
After, I visited a bar for beer, cider and a couple of pintxos, my first food of the day.
I now sit writing all of this in the main square of Pamplona. For the evening I plan to visit a restaurant and perhaps a live music bar.
Tomorrow I will chill, plan my next steps, do some reading and explore Pamplona.
If you are lucky, I will write about Shoegate, the four part story of some shoes that were stolen in Roncesvalles monastery where I stayed. A story that unfolded by chance conversations on the road.
